Coggeshall Farm Museum in Bristol, RIPurchase a Flag
Coggeshall will observe this year’s Memorial Day with the planting of our Field of Flags. Scouts will plant the flags from approximately 9:30 to 10:30 am and then conduct a ceremony at 10:30 am to dedicate the field and honor our military service members. Following the ceremony, Coggeshall will invite guests to plant flags of their own in honor of someone who is serving or has served in the U.S. Military.
Coggeshall Farm Museum is looking for Scouting volunteers for Memorial Day to assist with our Field of Flags program! All types of scouts are welcome, please plan to wear your uniform. If your troop or your scout would like to be involved, please email email@example.com.
Honor our Heroes with a Flag in the 2022 Field of Flags
Your generous gift to the Field of Flags campaign not only provides you with an opportunity to honor a loved one who is currently serving or has served in the U.S. Military but also supports our partnership with Blue Star Museums to provide year-round complimentary admission for active duty and veteran military and their families.
Each flag is $25. Flags will be personalized with the addition of a ribbon that visitors can write the name of the honoree on and tie to the flag pole. This year, those who purchase a flag before Memorial Day will also receive admission (with proof of purchase) to Coggeshall on May 30, 2022 for two adults and any children they bring. Simply show your receipt at the Welcome Booth upon arrival! Any additional adults would need to pay general admission or purchase a flag of their own for admission.

Special Programming at the Farm
Throughout Memorial Day, visitors to Coggeshall will be able to chat about Bristol’s role in the American Revolution (which took place just a decade before the time period Coggeshall represents!) with costumed historians. There will also be a Memorial Day-themed craft for kids and a self-guided flag activity.
Memorial Day also coincides with Nature Weekend – learn more and see a schedule here.
Narragansett Council Camporee
Calling all Narragansett Council Scouts! Join us on Memorial Day Weekend for an exciting camp out on the farm. Scouts will have many opportunities to work towards an Outdoor Activity Award through games, hands-on workshops, and a hike.
Scouts will also help Coggeshall Farm Museum install the Field of Flags in honor of Memorial Day, an exhibition that remains open until Labor Day. After that, Scouts and their guardians are welcome to stay for as long as they’d like to visit the museum and experience living history in the daylight
